Construction Project Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent, where applicable, in the day to day duties of a projects administration
• Working closely under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent, learn companies systems and methods
• Assist in plan and spec analysis in order to provide clear track able and coordinated interpretation of the design/drawings for construction
• Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions
• Act as liaison with subcontractors expediting drawings and related information
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs (RFI, Vendor/Subcontractor, Purchase, Owner etc) track responses and advise the Project manager and Superintendent of the status of RFIs
• Obtain quotations for Notice of Change
• Maintain and update the Shop Drawings Log, review Shop Drawings and submittals
• Coordinate submittals and procure all close-out documents including warranties and Operating Maintenance Manuals
• Monitor field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications and codes
• Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents
• Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues
• Conduct quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspections programs, using specified control measuring and testing equipment
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work as required
• Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, including tracking and creating RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements, and maintain project expediting lists
• Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or required
• Coordinate periodic job related photographs for records
• Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity
• Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction managment skills
• Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by supervision

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training
• Minimum of 2 years construction experience
• Basic understanding of Primavera is an asset
• Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and represent the company and project team in a professional manner to the Owner, Architect, related project staff and the community
• Must be hard working and diligent

Construction Estimator

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the team in preparing and organizing public tenders or private development budget estimates
• Take-off all quantities for excavation, gravel, concrete, lumber, formwork, etc, and all specialties that may be required
• Assure all subcontractors receive all the latest tender drawings, specifications and addenda electronically or by other arrangements
• Obtain competitive price coverage by working with core subcontractors and suppliers, and by establishing new contacts for both
• Assist in preparing project budgets and analyzing subcontractor quotes (Bid Analysis Sheets) to ensure the scope of work is in compliance with plans and specifications
• Assist Project Managers during construction stage in preparing additional estimates, quotations and updated project information
• Initiate and supervise the maintenance for a construction product library, and an up-to-date master subcontractor and supplier list
• Control incoming and outgoing plans and provide proper storage of these documents, as required
