The Lark Group has been a Developer and General Contractor since 1972. Based in Surrey, we focus on health care facilities, offices and other institutional projects. We presently have an opening for a Site Foreman.

Qualifications include:

Experience requirement includes a minimum of 5 years field experience. Knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required. Excellent organizational and leadership skills required. Computer competency an asset.

Responsibilities include:

• Be thoroughly familiar with the drawings and specs.

• Ensure that the crew has all material required to maintain continuity and proper equipment available to move effectively.

• Continually keep the superintendent informed on job progress and work well with associated foremen.

• Monitor, execute and track unit cost works on a daily basis and balance against budgets.

• Work in association with the local unions to keep job harmony.

• Be responsible for maintaining the correct number of men for his crew, evaluating his work force on a regular basis.

• Run particular portion of the project in a safe manner upholding good workmanship standards.

• Be responsible for recording daily time for each of his crew and report to the superintendent.

• Review, record, disseminate and follow up correction of quality deficiencies in trade and self perform work.

• Perform additional assignments as required by supervisor.

Onsite Project Coordinator/Field Engineer

The Lark Group has been a Developer and General Contractor since 1972. Based in Surrey, we focus on health care facilities, offices and other institutional projects. We presently have an opening for an Onsite Project Coordinator/Field Technician.
 
Qualifications include:
 
Educational and experience requirements include a post secondary education or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience and a minimum of five years construction engineering and/or layout experience. Working knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment standards and procedures is necessary. Must have the ability to read blueprints and develop As-built drawings. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others a must. Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner, must be proficient in a computer environment. Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.

 
Responsibilities include:
 
•        As a member of the Project Site Team, duties include being able to perform layout work competently, accurately and efficiently.

•        Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors and superintendents.

•        Report accurate quantities for labour cost reports, accurately monitor material ledgers.

•        Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities as required by the contract.

•        Inspect falsework for conformance to design drawings.

•        Monitor installation of rebar for conformance to structural drawings.

•        Assist Project Superintendent with enforcement of quality control and expediting subcontractors.

•        Continually update drawings with changes as issued by Consultants.

•        Continually find solutions to conflicts in structural/architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications by conferring with the Consultants. Coordinate these solutions with the various sub-trades.

•        Review shop drawings for conformance with the contract and ensure information is communicated to foreman and superintendent.

•        Identify contract document conflicts and recommend solutions.

•        Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.

•        Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction management skills.
