Project Description:
The Willow Pavilion is a maternity ward on the Vancouver General Hospital site. Built in 1928, it is was renovated into a tertiary mental health ward. Lark was the successful bidder for this $15 million project, and shortly after the project was awarded, the City required an extensive seismic upgrade of the building. Seismic upgrade work included adding footings and soil anchors to elevator and stair shafts, reinforcing exterior walls with shotcrete and carbon fibre reinforcing, and installing drag struts at each floor level.
